Lefika la Botshabelo Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Centre was established in 2006 as a ministry of the Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church in Pretoria, Tshwane. Lefika La botshabelo is a Setswana term which literally means God is my rock in whom I take refuge. Therefore, it is the intention of Lefika to effectively respond to the needs/circumstances of OVC and to ensure that they are at peace with their lives. The target community is Stinkwater near Hammanskraal. The organization has adopted an Integratedd Community Development Model, which is implemented in collaboration with one of its strategic partner Siyaphila Youth Development Services and has managed to roll out this model successively to 2 communities in the Limpopo province.
God is my rock in whom I take refuge.
Transforming the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) through partnership with families and other stakeholders through strategies and services anchored in the community socio-cultural framework and in line with international and national child social protection policy and legal frameworks.
